Why see Waitress?

Five-Star Musical Pie

With Carrie Hope Fletcher as Jenna*

The sweetest musical treat returns, bringing its delicious confection of peppy songs, romance, and dramedy to the UK on this extra special 10th anniversary tour! Adapted by Jessie Nelson from the beloved 2007 indie film by Adrienne Shelly and with an all-female creative team led by a swelling score from singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, it's a life-affirming feel-good hit - the perfect thing to chase the cobwebs away.

What is the story of Waitress?

Suffocated by both the small Southern town where she lives and her controlling husband Earl, Jenna longs for escape. Her only solace comes from working in the local diner, where she can practice her passion for baking. Jenna's crumbly pastries and crinkly crusts are renowned the town over, and by a stroke of luck, they might just offer her an escape route! A pie-baking contest is announced in a nearby town, offering a potentially life-changing cash prize for the first-place winner. Jenna realises this may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and is determined to grab it with both hands!

*Carrie will not be performing in the following cities: Sunderland, Oxford, Stoke, Bristol, Liverpool, Milton Keynes, and Glasgow. Additional casting to be announced.
