What's The Story?
Based on the iconic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) film starring Gene Kelly, Singin' in the Rain first dazzled audiences in the West End at the Palace Theatre in 2012, where it received four Olivier Award nominations.
Set during Hollywood's transition from silent movies to "talkies", the story follows charismatic leading man Don Lockwood as the movie industry changes forever. Along the way, romance blossoms when aspiring actress Kathy Selden is brought in to dub the voice of his less-than-perfect co-star.
Original director Jonathan Church reunites with choreographer Andrew Wright to bring the golden age of Hollywood back to life on stage. Packed with classic songs including Good Morning, Make 'Em Laugh, and the unforgettable title number Singin' in the Rain, the production also features the famous splash dance sequence that has become one of musical theatre's most iconic moments.
